Capiz are farmed in Indonesia and every bit is used. The pieces are carefully sorted, dried, sliced, shaped, sanded and dyed. Strung together with strong, invisible, nylon cord. The thin and flat translucent pieces provide luminous color that is enhanced with the solar light.

In the 1500s, capiz were used as windowpanes in houses; now they are used in all sorts of home decorations, including lamp shades and vases and (of course) windchimes!

These Capiz Solar Chimes incorporate a solar-powered light that provides mood lighting for your outdoor entertainment area. After recharging all day, the lights in the chime automatically turn on at night. The effect is breathtaking - the gentle music from the chime combines with soft light that moves and dances as the capiz move in the breeze.

This wonderful capiz chime was hand-crafted with pride by craftsmen of Bali. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Maintenance: Every part of a Woodstock Chime is weather protected. Woodstock capiz chimes should not need regular cleaning. If necessary, use mild soap and water (or a foaming, non-abrasive cleanser) to clean the capiz.

This item ships via FedEx or UPS (depending on your zip code). Once shipped, you will receive a tracking # via the email address you provide. Ground shipments usually arrive within 2-5 business days. Please inspect the package when it arrives to review if damage occurred during shipping. If a box is crushed, wet or severely damaged, reject the shipment and do not sign for it. The item will be returned to us, which allows us to file a claim. We will then be able to ship your replacement item within 24 hours.
